From an unreferenced source, but presumably a county Sutherland book or newspaper, we have: "Christina Taylor aged 25 and Isabella Taylor aged 30, daughters of a tenant at Achavandra, parish of Dornoch, emigrated to New Zealand between 1861 and 1871."

These appear to be their ages at the time they emigrated. Christina arrived in New Zealand late in 1867, which is consistent with her age listed here. While we have no solid evidence of Isabella's emigration, I am fairly certain that she was the "J Taylor" on the same ship as her husband William Munro, the "Robert Henderson", which sailed from Greenock on 12 Nov 1857 (a week after they were married on the 4th Nov) , arriving in Port Chalmers on Feb 9 1858. Isabella would have been 30.

in the 1851 census there are three sons listed at home: Donald, William and David and also with no parentage given: Isabella Taylor 1829, Christina Taylor 1843.

In 1861 the 1861 Census for Dornoch there was a Christina Taylor b 1842, and brothers Andrew, David and Donald, children of William b 1801 in Aroch, Rosshire and Margaret b 1801 in Dornoch. But no Isabella.

William and Isabella settled at "Skibo" in Berwick, Taieri, Otago in New Zealand. Several other Dornoch families later settled nearby too.

John was born in Scotland and emigrated to New Zealand ca 1912-1913, but appears to have live in Australia at some time before then. He returned to Scotland, presumably about 1927 married and then returned to New Zealand in 1927, settling in Cheviot. This was where David Shaw MacKay (son of Angus and Christina Taylor) was living and so they must have known each other.

John and Mary had 8 daughters.
